ok NEXT:) im gonna blog about my concert.. it was a great success i thought!! i mean it had a much much higher entertainment value as compared to those i had before:)
had been practising for this concert for almost a year now..was a great sense of satisfaction to see it end so successfully..haha you guys probably dont wana read all this..but let me just ramble for a while k?
haha yeah.. initially, i came into NTU choir without thinking..i just wanted to have a cca to keep me occupied in campus..and i guess i really missed singing in a choir..yeah..then just join lor..then when i got in, i got a shock coz there was seriously no one i knew there..and the worse thing was there were barely any singaporeans there..the choir was made up of mostly chinese and indonesians.so it was pretty scary..like being thrown onto this island with pple u dont know..
yeah then after that, i figured i needed some points to stay in hall..so i went to run for the position of biz mag in choir..and being me, i regretted my decision to run immediately..after the interview, i was hoping so hard that i wont get the post..and guess what, i got it after all..which i felt changed everything for me in choir:) and for the better of course..
things got really busy with choir camp and carolings in december which i couldnt missed coz i was the biz mag and i had to liaise with the pple..and i got to know everyone in choir a whole lot better...i mean you guys watched the concert and thought everyone was cmi like on the surface..but really, everyone there is really really nice..like..yeah not as bitchy and mean as i am..and i have learnt a whole lot from them..and the most important lesson is to follow your heart and to continue with your passion no matter what..
then I had to go through the process of obtaining sponsorships for the concert..and I must say I was super proud of myself coz I managed to obtain quite a sum of funding for this event..a whole lot more than last year at least..so that was quite an achievement for me since this was my first time doing such things..had to keep calling pple up and sending emails..and it wasn’t easy I guess..but lucky there were really helpful seniors around to help..thanks Margaret and Melvyn!:) I owe you guys..
anyways, we have been practising for this concert since choir started i think..when we learnt all the first-half songs with miss lim..getting toby (the angmoh guy) to teach us german and finding all the translations for the songs so that we could understand it better and sing them with feeling..learning how to sing like a chinese for the tea mountain love song...coz that song must be like..wah u know last time hwa chong we sang that cheena cheer...yeah something like that...
then came the preparations for second half during camp in december..it all started from scratch with christian, cheryl and raymond rushing to meet the deadlines to come up with the songs and minus-ones for us to practise...after which the first set of choreography was designed...but ms lim didnt like it at all, so we had to improvise it and come up with a (almost) whole new set of choreography..which we practised almost every weekend since school started in jan..i think..cant remember the exact timelines
the going was tough..but im really really thankful for the people in choir for without whom practices would have sucked in a major way..even though I always complained about practices, I would still look forward to every practice coz I was sure that the pple there would make the process a whole lot funner..yeapp..thanks ariel, anthony, eugene, myrna, raymond, naomi, yee woon, Irene, davin, Melvyn, james…..and many many more!
Also, the concert wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing audience, which included some of the most important people in my life right now..(and in no order of importance of course)…
Celestine: ROOMIE!! Thanks for your support all this while man..without you to complain to, I really don’t know how I’ll survive this crazy period of concert preparation!
